CHRISTMAS 2020
What tasty recipe shall we whip up today? Hey there! My name is Aleksandra and cooking is my all time passion (as you can probably already tell!) But when I'm not in the kitchen, I'm out in one of my gardens, planting veggies & herbs or over by the chicken coop feeding my chickens and quails while I collect the eggs they left for me. Cooking, gardening and animals are my favorite and what makes up My Splendid Recipes Let's check out what we got cooking today!
GINGERBREAD WAFFLES
1 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ginger and cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon cloves
3 tablespoon dark sugar
1 large egg, slightly bitten
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 cup molasses
Mix all dry ingredients, add egg, buttermilk, butter, molasses and milk.
Pour in hot waffle iron.
Serve with cranberry jelly and whipped
cream as desired.
SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES
11/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 large egg
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add half of the flour, egg, soda vanilla extract and cream fo tartar.
Add rest of the flour.
Chill for 1 hour .
Mix sugar and cinnamon.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in sugar-cinnamon mixture.
Place 2 inches a part on an ungreased cookie sheet . Bake 10-12 minutes in 375 F.
EGGNOG BREAD
This eggnog bread is soooo good, that can hardly last couple hours. I bake this eggnog bread every year around Christmas. Worth to bake!!
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sugar {can put 1 cup, if you like sweet}
3/4 cup eggnog1/2 cup canola oil
1/2 teaspoon rum extract
1 1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and cinnamon
Eggnog glaze:
3-4 tablespoons eggnog
1 cup powdered sugar
pinch of cinnamon
Beat eggs with sugar till foamy. Add eggnog, oil, rum extract to eggs mixture.
In separate bowl mix flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and baking powder.
Slowly add dry ingredients to eggs mixture.
Bake in 350 F for 1 hour. Pan 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch.
Mix glaze ingredients and glaze cool bread.
I did not glazed this bread, kids couldn't wait to eat it.

Those cookies are my husbands favorite. He always fisish them all.
JAM THUMBPRINTS COOKIERS10 tablespoons butter1 1/2 cup flour
2 yolks
1teaspoon vanilla
Separate:
2 egg whites, slightly beaten
1 cup walnuts, grind in food processor
Mix butter with sugar, add yolks and vanilla,
Add slowly flour. Mix well.
Take little piece 1 inch. roll like a little nut and squeeze with thumb on the middle.
Soak in egg white and roll in walnut.
Bake ok. 20 minuts 375 F.
